Tóm tắt: Nghiên cứu nhằm mô tả thực trạng và mối liên quan giữa sử dụng điện thoại thông minh và tình trạng mất ngủ của sinh viên Y khoa trường Đại học Đại Nam năm 2022. Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang thực hiện trên 203 sinh viên Y khoa trường Đại học Đại Nam. Nghiên cứu đánh giá tình trạng nghiện điện thoại thông minh bằng thang đo Smartphone addiction Scale – short vesion (SAS-SC) và tình trạng giấc ngủ bằng thang đo The Athens Insomnia Scale – 5 items vesion (AIS-5). Kết quả: Tỷ lệ nghiện điện thoại thông minh ở sinh viên Y khoa trường Đại học Đại Nam theo thang đo SAS-SC là 68,5%. Theo thang đo AIS-5, tỷ lệ sinh viên mất ngủ là 79,3%. Tỷ lệ mất ngủ cao hơn đáng kể ở sinh viên Y khoa nghiện điện thoại (84,9%) so với nhóm không nghiện điện thoại (67,2%). Tình trạng mất ngủ cũng liên quan tới mục đích sử dụng điện thoại và cách thức sử dụng điện thoại thông minh. Tỷ lệ mất ngủ cao hơn ở người dùng điện thoại thông minh với mục đích mua hàng online (83,6%>71,0%, p<0,05) so với nhóm không mua hàng online trên điện thoại. Tỷ lệ mất ngủ cũng cao hơn ở người dùng điện thoại thông minh tham gia mạng xã hội (82,5%>64,9%, p<0,05) so với nhóm không dùng mạng xã hội. Những sinh viên có thói quen dành thời gian online thay vì đi ngủ cũng có tỷ lệ mất ngủ cao hơn so với nhóm còn lại (81,6%>55,6%) có ý nghĩa thống kê. Sinh viên Y khoa trường Đại học Đại Nam có tỷ lệ nghiện điện thoại thông minh và mất ngủ tương đối cao. Có mối liên quan giữa đặc điểm sử dụng điện thoại thông minh với tình trạng giấc ngủ của sinh viên.
