Tóm tắt: Năng lượng tái tạo (NLTT) đóng vai trò quan trọng trong sự phát triển kinh tế bền vững. Tuy nhiên, phát triển NLTT có thể tác động nghiêm trọng đến môi trường do nhu cầu khai thác vật liệu, sản xuất, sử dụng (lắp đặt, vận hành), và ngừng hoạt động của các công nghệ NLTT. Cách tiếp cận kinh tế tuần hoàn (KTTH) có thể hỗ trợ phát triển NLTT một cách mạnh mẽ đồng thời tiến đến đạt được trung hòa carbon vào năm 2050. Bài viết này cung cấp thông tin chi tiết về các chính sách phát triển NLTT và KTTH tại một số quốc gia như Hoa Kỳ, Liên minh Châu Âu, Trung Quốc, Úc và Ấn Độ. Từ đó, nhóm tác giả thảo luận các khía cạnh cho kết hợp chính sách về KTTH và NLTT và đề xuất cho Việt Nam. Nhóm tác giả chỉ ra rằng các chính sách ở cấp quốc gia và khu vực phải hình thành các mục tiêu và chiến lược dài hạn để phát triển NLTT dựa trên nền KTTH. Các quy định thông minh sẽ khuyến khích giảm tiêu thụ, tái sử dụng và tái chế vật liệu và công nghệ NLTT. Kết hợp KTTH và NLTT sẽ tăng tốc quá trình chuyển đổi để đạt được mức phát thải ròng bằng không vào năm 2050.
